Yes, it's relatively quiet at the spamming front these days. Even spammers go on holidays, I guess ..
Still going strongly are our Russian "friends", still spamming from 217.107.222.75. But at least they stopped those attempts that caused a 400 error.
Another old "friend" has resurfaced: The contact lenses spammer. Still spamming from 63.247.74.90, currently for ringtonesget.com.
A new kid on the block is using one of the 3 open alestra.net.mx proxies (207.248.240.119), that everyone should have added to their list of blocked IPs long ago. He's currently referrer spamming for 3cameltoe.com and 500escorts.com. Since he's using RegisterFly's Whois Protection Service, I haven't found much information about him yet. The sites are hosted with Webair.
Other than that, I only see the occasional increase in attempts to exploit the latest weaknesses in phpBB. Of course, the script kiddies don't care that we don't even run phpBB and keep hammering the site anyway.
