False alarm

From the "turns out it's legit, although it leaves me scratching my head" department: We saw some referrers coming from a site www.broker.org. When I tried to check that site out, the name didn't resolve!? So I assumed it was a scam and blocked it.

A few days later, I see that those are still coming in. But the name still doesn't resolve, neither from Europe nor from the US. Then I noticed that all the requests came from the same IP address, so I simply entered that IP into my browser - and got a website. And, voila, even the "spamvertized" URL (after replacing the domain name with that IP) worked and did indeed have a link back to us.

No idea what those guys did with their DNS entry, but at least they were not spamming ...
